Book Description

If Nina Cormier’s wedding had taken place when it should she would have been killed in a bomb blast. After being jilted at the altar the church blows up. Her day gets a lot worse and she has to find out who is out to kill her before they succeed.

Book Review

This writers novels of medical suspense are really great books but this is an earlier novel and is in a different style altogether. The heroine, and bride, Nina, is being stalked by a bomber, after being left at the altar by her fairly unlikeable fiancée, the church blows up. You’d think she would be distracted by this, yet she still finds time to get over being jilted and fall for the bomb squad investigator assigned to protect her. The book highlights the chemistry between these two people, Nina and Sam, but it was too much of a romantic episode for me, with not enough suspense. Ms.Gerritsen shows here her potential as a suspense novelist and obviously has gone on to write far superior novels. The plot is fast paced and did hold my interest but this is a light read compared to the Surgeon or the Apprentice. If you know her later works this book may be a disappointment to you, but if you are a fan, it is still worth a read. This book is available with the link on this page for only  £3.60.
